"The Magic of Shakespeare" saw Kindergarten to Grade 8 students explore whether phrases from Shakespeare's plays created hundreds of years ago still have meaning in today's society and if a Shakespeare novice of any age can find the phrases meaningful in their lives.
Working with Mark von Eschen (Artistic & Executive Director, Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan) and teacher Monique Martin, the students designed their own Globe Theatre and costumes. They also created 79 individual banners featuring 58 different phrases from Shakespeare's works that are still used today. With much support from the City of Saskatoon and the private sector, these banners are now hung around the city for the summer. The students wrote a lively blog about their experience and you can read it by clicking here.
